50th World Communication Day Celebration Diocese of Trichy

50th world communication day was celebrated in our TRICHY DIOCESE, jubilantly on 24/07/2016, Sunday, presided over, by Rev. Bishop Antony Devotta, the bishop of Trichy, unitedly conducted by the three commissions, Kaviri communications (KC Studio)s centre, youth commission and catechetical commission
The list of the participants who took part at 5 different places the same day is as follows:

  • 1. Fancy dress competition – 80 Children
  • 2. Recitation competition – 185 children
  • 3. Dance competition – 38 Groups (228 Children)
  • 4. Mime – 8 Groups (48 Children)
  • 5. Drama – 10 Groups (24 Persons)
  • 6. Youth – 10 Groups (60 Persons)
  • 7. Rangoli – 8 Groups (48 Persons)
  • 15 Judges and 65 enthusiastic volunteers made the competitions and the celebration a grand success to enable 1000 participants to perform the same one day.

  • While the competitions were going on, Video conferencing was going on in a separate auditorium within the premise to present an awareness program on internet safety, internet utility and awareness on media, the same day. Awareness on how to share through WhatsApp was also provided to registered mobiles.

  • Greater number of children enjoyed winning prizes as many categories were created and each category was adorned with 3 first prizes, 3 second prizes, and 3 third prizes, apart from consolation prizes and participation certificate to all. The topics in all the competitions were based on “Media and Mercy- A fruitful encounter.

  • Talk on Madha TV’s influence on people and its growth in general paved the way to increase the subscribers to Madha TV.

  • Our reverend Bishop of Tirchy, distributed the prizes to winners by 6.00pm with Which the 50th World Communication Day came to a gracious and pleasing end.

  • Predetermined sound planning and subtle execution of this grand function was possible only because of numerous gentle hearts, three commissions, revered sisters of Mariagam, cheerful volunteers, plentiful parish priests, who had sent the children of their parishes, revered sisters of various congregations, headmasters, parents and volunteers.
